What Are the Orb Triangle UFO Sightings?

UFO sightings have been occurring for hundreds of years. But starting around 2010, a new wave of UFO sightings has been generating much curiosity and interest. The “orb triangles”. Three orbs of light in a triangular formation, often accompanied by additional orbs, have been appearing above major cities all over the world. The consistency of their formation, as well as the manner in which they move, make it clear they are no freely floating objects such as flares or Chinese lanterns. If these orbs are indeed extra-terrestrial in origin as many speculate, then what is their purpose? Why do they keep repeatedly appearing in such a highly visible manner over large population centers?
