His whistleblowing about worker and public safety issues – and his non-violently confronting the resulting lawyer-led campaign of reprisal, contributed to the passage of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) by which over 135,000 former DOE workers have received over 20 billion dollars in compensation.
