Whale Shark at Derawan Island - Wonderful Indonesia

Derawan Island lies in the province of East Kalimantan. In order to get there, we flew from Jakarta-Balikpapan-Berau, followed by 2.5 hour drive to Tanjung Batu and finally 30 minute boat ride took us to the beautiful island.
Derawan is famous of its amazing coral reefs, but the whale shark encounter is still on top of my to-do list, since it's one of the most magical creature that we will not see everyday in life. In order to see the whale shark, we need to leave very early and took 2.5 hours boat ride to Talisayan. It's definitely an experience not to be missed when visiting Derawan Island, Indonesia.
