This is the capture card you want. It does everything you need it to do, and the footage looks amazing.

Yes, the Live Gamer BOLT can capture 4K60 with HDR, while the LGU 2.1 captures 4K60 without HDR, but can capture HDR at 30 fps. The truth is, you don't need (or even really want) to record your games with HDR. HDR is much harder to work with and requires a paid video editor that can handle 10-bit footage.

I think you'll find SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) game footage actually looks better in most cases. I'll include links below.

If you absolutely need the ability to record 4K60 with HDR with an external card, then you'll have to go with the Live Gamer Bolt. I love my LGB, and I'm glad I have it for the few times when I really want to record a new game with HDR at 4K60. But I wouldn't use the LGB as my daily capture card because it has a tiny bit of latency I can detect, while the LGU 2.1 has a basically ZERO latency pass-thru.

But again, if you absolutely need 4K60 with HDR, I would suggest you get both the Live Gamer Bolt and the Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 - If you can only get one, then get the Live Gamer Ultra 2.1.

The Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 is my current favorite capture card. Everything I record or stream with it looks amazing.

I can use the included RECentral for an easy way to record or stream, or use OBS and customize every part of my stream (or recording). When using OBS, I can even stream with AV1 for a high quality/low bandwidth 4K60 stream.

*AV1 may not be available for you if you don't have a compatible GPU

The LGU 2.1 is USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, so it's more compatible than Thunderbolt devices, and it's able to pass-thru up-to 4K 144FPS HDR/VRR or 1080p 360FPS HDR/VRR thanks to it being HDMI 2.1

Other than the footage looking stunning, I also like that the LGU 2.1 doesn't have any discernable latency in the pass-through (the video stream going from your console to the TV)

So that means your games don't feel any different, and the timing feels exactly the same.
