The areas around Taos, New Mexico are well known for cattle mutilations; specifically Rio Rancho, Questa and sometimes Dulce -- and other nearby areas.

The two predominant theories on Cattle Mutilations tend to be either UFOs or satanic rituals. This is interesting as the two often go quite literally hand-in-hand.

For decades, Linda Moulton Howe, an Emmy award winning journalist, has made the case that aliens and ufos are, in her view, extremely real and -- for whatever cause -- have an interested in cattle and the mutilations thereof.

On the other end, the mutilations have occult overtones of satanic ritual practices. In a cattle mutilation, the face of the cow is often skinned on at least one side, tongue removed -- and also organs such as the sexual organs taken. Also blood being drained is a common theme.

The mutilations, as well as the most dramatic of ufo claims, and even the alleged Roswell crash, are roughly within the same areas. It is hard to imagine that as coincidence.

So, if one were to say cattle mutilations were either occult ritual or supernatural: The answer could quite literally be both.
