How ICP Keeps Nodes in Check

During my investigation to become a node operator I have noticed that Internet Computer required very little amount of tokens staked to become a node operator. This observation quickly lead me to conclude that the ICP network does not practice slashing- the practice of punishing nodes by cutting the staking amount that they put up. This led me to wonder how ICP keeps its node in check. My investigation led to some discoveries I would like to share with you.
