Where is India in the battle for AI ? AI & You Podcast Part 1 w/ Peter J. Scott

In this first part of a two episode podcast series, Peter J. Scott, the IT specialist and futurist, and host of AI and You, interviews Rajiv Malhotra on important issues of the AI. Malhotra outlines his latest book's major thesis on digital colonization and how AI is creating new superpowers out of nations like China and the USA, led by private companies such as Google and Alibaba, similar to how the erstwhile private East India Company led the colonial enterprise.

Rajiv Malhotra also explains how western universalism is perpetuated further through AI algorithms, and discusses China as a case study that is successfully contesting the western lens and asserting its own universal worldview. Even the ethics of AI, is being controlled by the big tech companies, which have created inequities in the first place through digital colonisation and algorithms that operate from western universalist principles. Malhotra also considers India as a case study, and how it lost the opportunity to emerge as an AI superpower and continues to punch below its weight.
