A Matter of Life And Death

Yes, of course we are doomed. There is a 100% chance that we are all going to die. Or at least our bodies are. But this is not the only life, and this is not the only world. It is not our job to "save the world", that's God's job, if he feels like it, and I wouldn't really blame him if he didn't. Our job is to save our own souls, by TRYING to save the world, as best we can. So, keep on keepin' on, don't lose faith, don't quit.
