Actinolite

Actinolite is a member of the amphibole group of minerals, which are primarily composed of calcium, magnesium, iron, and silicon. Its name is derived from the Greek words "aktinos" meaning beam or ray and "lithos" meaning stone, referring to its fibrous or radiating crystal habit. Actinolite typically forms in metamorphic environments, particularly within schist, gneiss, and marble rocks, where it develops under high-pressure and moderate-temperature conditions. It commonly occurs alongside other minerals such as quartz, feldspar, and garnet.
