Ditch Some Smartphone Apps As They Collect Data On You

Smartphone apps can access your photos, contacts, microphone, camera and more. Even if your messages are end-to-end encrypted, less secure backups of your messages can end up on the cloud and in multiple places. Web pages are more secure than smartphone apps as JavaScript runs in a sandbox and can only access your photos when you give explicit permission. Why use smartphone apps at all, when most of the functionality is available on web pages anyway?
