After Consumerism then What...

The clock on American consumerism is ticking. With the debt clock reaching $35 trillion, budget deficits exploding, and mass corporate layoffs, the American consumer is about to tap out. When the consumer finally screams Uncle, what will happen? What will the average American do? I suspect there will be a massive cultural void in this country when the consumer taps out. Like all transition periods, this can be dangerous. Unless leaders step up to fill this cultural void, this country may spiral down into senseless vices that will lead it to a new dark age. It is crucial therefore that you help me revitalize a positive culture amongst Americans.
