Have you ever noticed that the people who scream the loudest about saving democracy are the people who hate democracy the most? For example, the people who claim President Trump is a threat to democracy are the same people who support removing his name from ballots so people cannot vote for him. Another example can be found in Ukraine. Ukraine hasn't held elections in 5 years, and 10 years ago there was a coup d'etat in the country. The democratically elected president was removed in a violent overthrow. Despite these antidemocratic issues, we are told we have to defend Ukraine to defend democracy. On the other hand, we are told the people in the East and in Crimea, who voted to separate from Ukraine are the ones who are antidemocratic. How did the referendums in these regions demonstrate a greater commitment to democracy than those who staged the coup d'etat in Kiev?
