Rome Police Department squad car was hit while an officer was making a traffic stop

According to a press release, Officer Jasmine Aldrich was parked along Hwy 13 near Akron Ave when the squad car was hit from behind by Charles Zastrow of Friendship.

The squad car was on the southbound shoulder of the road with the emergency lights in full operation. Officer Aldrich was taken to a local hospital and was treated and released.
