It got me thinking, why didn't he do this when he first won the case? What was the hold-up?

Well, maybe it has to do with the fact, that maybe he lied about him owning the characters and stories he wrote for the comic.

I mean, the evidence and visual proof is out there, that shows that maybe the case, perhaps he just wanted money for his Lara-Su project.
