Shiny Happy People - TWO UNBELIEVABLE STORIES! - Duggar, IBLP & Gothard

Some of the stories told in Shiny Happy People are clearly not true just by the logistics of what the interviewees said in their own words. Lara Smith is a woman who claimed two separate stories --- one of continual sexual abuse by Bill Gothard while riding in vans to different locations, and another of an alleged sexual assault by a male staff member at the Institute in Basic Life Principles training centers.

Yet a simple thinking through of what she claimed shows it cannot have happened as she tells it.

AND - a picture from 50 years ago continues to surface and is used by Shiny Happy People and many others to suggest Bill Gothard was a predatory cult leader. The true origin of this picture tells a much different story.
