DUI investigation turns deadly when the suspect flees on foot and produces a handgun, bodycam shows

On February 10, 2024, at approximately 1730, Marana police officers stopped 29-year-old, Tobin Pico, for traffic violations in the 4100 Block of West Ina Road. The officers suspected Pico was impaired, and a DUI investigation led them to arrest Pico on suspicion of DUI. As officers were placing Pico in handcuffs, he fled on foot. While running Pico produced a handgun. The video shows Pico firing the weapon while walking along the Canyon Del Oro river path as more officers arrived in the area. The officers exchanged gunfire with Pico, he was struck and fell to the ground. Pico was pronounced deceased at the scene.
