It is a valid question to ask when the US has ever come to the aid of its enemies in such a manner. The current situation with the port plan in Gaza raises concerns about potential resource extraction, which could happen now or in the future. The fact that the US has a history of prioritizing its own interests over any sense of morality or humanity only adds to these concerns. It is difficult to see this port plan as anything other than an attempt to either deport Gazans or steal their resources. There is no need for apologetic language when discussing such a contentious issue.
