Andrew Tate arrested in Romania at request of UK police

Andrew Tate, the notorious social media influencer, has appeared in court in Romania after being arrested at the request of the British authorities, who want him extradited for alleged sex offences.

Lawyers for the alleged victims said the arrests of Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 35, were made after British police were told of fears that Andrew Tate might be preparing to flee Romania.

The brothers and two alleged female accomplices were arrested in Bucharest in December 2022 on allegations of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. They deny wrongdoing.
