In a video that was made public by Hamas, the organization is seen surprising Israel's troops with strikes made possible by the vast tunnel network in Gaza.

In spite of Israel's heavy artillery shelling of the Gaza Strip, the fighting in the area has escalated. The conclusion of the military operation in northern Gaza was announced by an Israeli military spokeswoman.

Since then, at least 24,620 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have died, and 61,830 more have been injured, according to health officials under Hamas control.

According to the UN, the Israeli offensive has caused 60% of the enclave's infrastructure to be damaged or destroyed, leaving 85% of its population internally displaced amid severe shortages of food, potable water, and medication.
