The Lessons NOT Learned

George Orwell's famous comment from his novel "1984", that "War is Peace", was the theme of NATO General Secretary Stoltenberg in a celebration marking Sweden's membership in NATO. If we want peace, he said, we must continue "to provide military support to Ukraine." Neither Stoltenberg nor the gaggle of War Hawks in charge of western policy have learned anything from the post-1963 string of failed military interventions by western governments.
