Altered Beast is a beat 'em up arcade game developed and published by Sega in 1988. The game is set in Ancient Greece and features five levels of combat against undead creatures. It can be played by up to two players simultaneously
In the game, you are summoned by Zeus, God of Thunder, to challenge the wicked Neff, God of the Underworld, for the fate of Athena. Athena is the daughter of Zeus and must take her rightful place among the gods if you can free her from imprisonment.
In the game, you can become able to turn into beasts such as the werewolf with the use of power-ups. For example, in the Acropolis at Hades stage, you can transform into a Werewolf by collecting three spirit balls. As a Werebear, you have the ability of stinky bear breath so bad your enemies literally turn to stone
