Today, AIPAC lobbyists were on Capitol Hill to push Congress to send more weapons to Israel. AIPAC is a lobby group with enormous influence on our legislators. According to a recent Politico report, they are spending $100 million to unseat “candidates they deem insufficiently support of Israel.” When confronted about their campaign to buy support for Israel’s crimes in Congress, even by other Jewish people, many simply ran away, some to the bathroom and others to the police. A couple lobbyists were willing to speak with us, but offered no answers besides the same lies and propaganda we’ve been hearing for months. The majority of Americans want a ceasefire and an end to U.S. weapons transfers to Israel. In what sort of democracy are lobbyists for foreign governments allowed to spend hundreds of millions to push our legislators against the will of the people?
