How Hot Dogs Are Made

Hot Dogs are made from portions of pork, beef and chicken and you can bet they are not the prime cuts. They are made from the trimmings and they are grinded up.

Processed chicken, food starch and food flavorings are added. Water is sprayed into the mix and everything is blended together. Then you add some corn syrup.

This is then Pureed into an emulsified BATTER.

This batter is then filled (pumped) into cellulose tubing.

They are then baked with some liquid smoke added for flavoring.

They are then chilled and packaged.

Then they are shipped to a grocery store near you.

All ready to eat.
