Interesting remarks here in the second half if you're on the outside looking in. Sort of a rambling speech though, he doesn't go in depth on the lawsuit or say much about the declarations. The problem with Byrne's idea of reconciliation is you don't break the precedent of two-tiered justice. So regroup society and get everything back to normal, but if it goes off the rails again, people will know they can take advantage and there won't be any consequences. State Supreme Court rulings are only binding in that state, in this case Louisiana, but they can be cited all over.
