Leon S. Kennedy, a government agent for US-STRATCOM, has been reassigned on President Graham's orders to protect his family in the aftermath of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals' collapse.

Graham's daughter, Ashley, has been kidnapped by an unknown assailant on her way home from the University of Massachusetts where she studies.
