Margin Call and Other Broker Shenanigans

Hey There, Sniper here. Friday March 15th 2024 was a fun filled day of broker shenanigans for me and it did not end well. Firstly, I received a margin call on my futures trading account and my broker closed one of 3 open futures contracts. Apparently, I did not have enough free cash in my account to cover the after hours margin requirements. This created an instant loss of over $5000 for me.

My other broker assigned me some shares of a stock I was sold puts on like an hour after the close on Friday even though the stock actually closed about $1 above my strike price. Come to find out this happened to a lot of people on this particular stock ($RILY). Serious market maker shenanigans in my opinion. Thankfully, I am still up overall for the month.
