09 Understanding the "Battle of Armageddon"

Popular beliefs about the "end times" include the idea that Europe, Russia, and China will be involved in a horrific bloodbath in the Middle East, just before Jesus returns to stop it - "the Battle of Armageddon"! I embraced that and its larger scenario from Hal Lindsey in the 1970's, because he claimed what he was saying WAS what the Bible taught.. However, continual study of the Bible (paying attention to context, content, valid parallel passages, & counter-balancing truth), led me to eventually reject all of the sub-topics and larger popular scenario. Rather than huge armies meeting in the Middle East to battle each other just before Jesus returns, the passages in Revelation seemed to be describing a different kind of conflict. The prooftexts from elsewhere in the Bible, read in context, did NOT seem to be teaching the popular view either. This video will explain what I found concerning "Har-Magedon" (Revelation 16:16).
