The Vartry river gorge, Wicklow, Ireland

The walk through Vartry river gorges is moderate in difficulty. Anybody with moderate fitness can do it.It takes around two hours to complete. After heavy rainfall it is expected the trail to be muddy and slippery in some parts. It is best to be prepared and wear appropriate boots and clothing. While walking through the gorge we can admire cascades on the river, forest and rocks covered with moss. It is truly magical . The trail leads to the waterfall called Devil's glen. The waterfall's name comes from the sound of water when falling down, as if Satan himself was roaring
