Netanyahu Refuses Biden's Demands for a Ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been holding a video call with Republican senators in Washington after refusing demands from President Biden to abandon a ground offensive in the southern Gazan city of Rafah.

It comes amid growing tension between the Israeli government and the Biden Administration and senior Democrats in Washington, led by Chuck Schumer. Last week Senator Schumer, who is the most senior Jewish politician in Washington, called for a new government in Israel.
