....first garden update of 2024....24/3/24

....started down at the new potato bed, we will cover half of it with potato bags and we are going to move the brassica cage down here too....wander up past the compost loo and solar panels where we are storing next winters firewood....past the water butts, and shower room, we have cleared the backlog of ash poles we've been cutting out of the hedge, so we can carry on with the work tomorrow....the stage/woodshed is looking a little tatty and needs some love, as soon as I get a chance I'm going to clear it all out for the sunny season (hoping we actually have one 😂)....round the front of the porch, some of last year's herbs that survived are coming up again, and around to our outdoor dining area, looking a bit unused too....got garlic and leeks mainly in the kitchen garden with the rocket, mint, lettuce and some chives too....round the back is our daughters wood store, already full for next winter....out the front of the big green house I've planted spring onions in the middle bath, there are still onions in the far end and I've planted carrot seeds in the right hand end, not much in the big greenhouse but we've cleared it out to start planting in there soon....still got a lot of chard in the back bed that's overwintered and the is rhubarb in the little bed by the small greenhouse, and many seeds in to germinate inside, kale doing well, and leeks, tomatoes, spinach and chillies in too, more seed planting over the next few days....up to the main onion bed where we've got nearly 100 onions in, with many doing well already and the covered bed next to it that's the next one to be dug over....oh yeah, and the JCB is still stuck in the mud in the bottom corner of the field....😂😂
