Guyana calls out the USA on its UN proposal

Guyana was the only member of the UN Security Council to abstain from a vote on a failed U.S. resolution for a cease🔥. The resolution was vetoed by China and Russia, with Algeria also voting against. ⁣

Guyana’s Ambassador to the UN, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, called out the watered-down language of the U.S. proposal, which she said fails to condemn or properly address Isra🔥’s responsibility for the mass k!llings and humanitarian catastrophe in G@z@. ⁣

The resolution also failed to demand an immediate cease🔥, only stating a cease🔥 was “imperative.” ⁣
⁣
The U.S. has vetoed three other UN cease🔥 resolutions since Oct. 7, while simultaneously providing Isra🔥 with billions of dollars in m!l!tary aid and confirmed w€@pons sales totaling over $570 million. Isra🔥li forces have k!lled over 32,000.
