How to Naturally Dissolve a Stye on the Eye or Face

A stye can form on the upper or lower eyelid. It can sometime form on the inside of the eyelid.

I do not recommend steroids or medication as it is unnecessary and can irritate the stye further. Keeping the eyelid clean from makeup or anything else is best for a week or more if possible.

Warm compresses do the trick nicely in loosening up and dissolving the stye - 3 times a day for about 5 minutes each time is best to quickly dissolving the stye. Doing this, it should be gone in less than a week :-)

What causes a stye? I first got a stye when my eyelid was pinched once when getting eyelash extensions back in 2010. The base of that eyelash became irritated and infected, and my eyelid swelled and a stye formed.

I have since on a rare occasion gotten a stye from having dirty hair touch my eyelid or having gone to bed with makeup on. I got one on my face when my cat Puck had an issue with Giardia (a bacteria that causes diarrhea) and his paws carried the bacteria from the litter box.
