Woman Thinks She Can Steal A Bus Without Consequences

On March 28th, 2022, an officer was dispatched in response to a theft in progress. A 44-year-old woman named Lakita attempted to steal a bus. As she entered the vehicle, the passengers were surprised, recognizing that she wasn’t the driver. Lakita then tried to put the bus in drive mode but repeatedly failed. Ultimately, when she couldn’t start the bus, she exited and began talking to an RTA employee, even following them. Here’s what the employee told the police. The woman continually defended her actions. The female was charged with theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
