I Performed an Anime Themed Magic Show at College!

This performance was done for a college event by Sean Whittaker. The performance is a parody magic show called "In Another World With My Playing Cards." With anime and weeaboo themes.

In Another World with My Playing-Cards
A parody magic routine written and performed by Sean Whittaker.

Introduction:
(James Paget — Throw Off the Bowlines begins to play in the background as Sean enters the stage with a prop case in hand.)

Sean: Many years ago, after clicking on a sketchy popup add I found on 4chan, I was teleported into another world where I fought many mythical beasts such as goblins, dragons, and werewolves. It was from then on, I discovered the art of magic, while training under my sensei Nagamatsu, while also developing a massive harem of highly attractive anime girls. My name is Sean the magical Weeaboo, and I have the power of magic, and anime on my side!

(Sean places his prop case beside the table. He then pulls out a body pillow sheet of himself which he uses as a tablecloth. Once the sheet is placed on the table, he pulls out a deck of playing cards.)

Sean: Day by day, year after year, magicians from all over the globe have been locating playing-cards chosen from members of the audience and lost between the other cards. It is by far the most overused trope in the entire magic-show genre. So tonight, I will not only be finding a chosen card, but will be doing so in the most elaborate way possible!

Sean: You sir, in the front, please lay your finger upon any card you desire. Alright, please keep this card locked inside your head.

(Sean goes back to the stage and shows the card to the rest of the audience.)

Sean: As for the rest of you! Take a look at this card as this is the card we will be using for tonight’s act! Now watch closely because what you are about to witness has never been done by any other magician. Dead or alive.

(Sean pull a paper bag out of his prop case. He dumps the cards into the bag and goes back to his case to pull out oven mitts. After putting the oven mitts on he attempts to find the card inside the bag while wearing oven mitts.)

Sean: One card and one card only, your chosen card, the (Names card)

(Wrong card. Music stops. Depending on the audience reaction Sean Improvs reaction lines such as “What do you mean this isn’t your card?!” “What’s so funny?” Once he notices the card is incorrect, Sean then sits down on the table facing the audience as “Arrietty’s Song” plays.)

Sean: Dammit!

(Sean steps out in front of the table and sits down on it.)

Sean: You know, this isn’t the first time I bombed a magic trick on stage, and if it wasn’t for the support I was shown back in the other world, who knows where I would have ended up today. Sensei Nagamatsu, I know you may never forgive me for saving the life of a dragon girl, but I wish I could have shown my gratitude one last time before my execution. If it wasn’t for that night, I would have never understood the importance of my sensei’s lesson. A magician must be prepared to change direction at any time. Sensei, I have not forgot what you taught me, and tonight, through the power of your wisdom, I am going to make your words become a reality.

Sean: Before I came here tonight, I created a prediction. And now has come time, for my grand reveal.

(Sweet victory begins to play as Sean jumps onto the table and rips his jacket off revealing their card across his shirt.)

Sean: My name is Sean the magical weeaboo, and I have the power of magic and anime on my side!!!
