Eclipse Crossing — Sign or Superstition?

The paths of the total solar eclipses of August 21, 2017 and April 8, 2024 will cross in the Midwest region as the latter moves across the continental United States. Many are taking this as a sign of judgment upon America. Is this legit? Is this really a sign designed by God to give Americans a last minute warning before she collapses into chaos or gets turned into a pile of smoking rubble? Or is this just sensationalism and superstition? Are men reading communications from God into common occurrences?
