Cancelling Your Right to Fish

The West Australian Fishing Industry Council has revealed that the Labour government in its state is proposing turning an area of 7,674 square kilometres extending offshore between Dawesville and Cape Naturaliste to an offshore wind development. It could potentially mean that 25% of Western Australia's coast land could be closed to the fishing industry and recreational use impacting not only the fishing industry but tourism, not to mention people's right to access fish.

We explore the potential damage this could have to the livelihoods of this industry.
