Are Sin and Shame Weighing You Down?

In Judges 6:1 - 2, the Israelites hide out in caves and dens instead of crying out to God, repenting of their sin, and moving on. It takes them seven years before they realize this is what they needed to do. Sometimes, even as Christians who know that Jesus has granted us forgiveness of our sins, we can hide out in our own caves of guilt and shame. What does this Judges passage teach us about the sin and danger of doing that?
