Netanyahu makes U-turn on cancelled meeting between Israeli, US officials

Israel's PM Netanyahu's office has told the White House that it wants to reschedule a cancelled meeting supposed to take place between officials from both countries.

An Israeli delegation was due to visit Washington to discuss the planned ground offensive in Rafah. However, Netanyahu cancelled the trip following the United States' refusal to veto a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Netanyahu said the US decision was "a very bad move" and that "it encourages Hamas to take a hard line".
