Maui Fire Update: Lahaina Banyan Tree Update March 28.2024

Eric West, owner of Hawaii Real Estate (.org), has been covering the Maui fire since August (2023) - we occasionally provide one of his most recent videos to keep this issue in front of you. After the Lahaina fire, one of the concerns everyone had was for the largest tree in Maui.

The Banyan tree covers nearly 2 acres in Lahaina, which once was the capital of Hawaii.

The Lahaina Banyan Tree was planted in 1873 to mark the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the first American Protestant mission.

And with spring returning to the northern hemisphere, many of its branches are returning to life as it heals itself from the fire.
