Leopards, scientifically known as Panthera pardus, are large cats closely related to lions, tigers, and jaguars. They vary greatly in size and markings, with an average weight of 50 to 90 kg and a length of 210 cm, excluding the tail. Leopards have a pale yellowish to dark golden fur with dark spots grouped in rosettes, and their underbelly is white. They are solitary animals, mainly nocturnal, and are agile climbers.
