Reading the Bible in 1 Year - Deuteronomy Chapter 18 - Offerings for Priests an Levites

Deuteronomy Chapter 18 is about the warnings to the Children of Israel regarding detestable practices. I would think God wouldn’t have to tell them that if there are those among them who sacrifice their son or daughter in the fire, they are detestable, but God is constantly having to give guidelines that seem like common sense. Of course, the good thing to take from this is that God loves the Children of Israel even though he needs to give them this guidance, which shows that God can love flawed people.
