Deadly Avon shooting is only the second in the city's history

One person has died and a second person is in critical condition after a shooting at a home in The Settlement near the Plainfield-Avon line Monday afternoon.  Avon Police Department officers were called to the home in the 2700 block of Bluewood Way around 2:45 p.m. for a report of two people who had been shot.  Assistant Chief of Police Brian Nugent said a woman who said she was coming to the home to pick up a television from an online transaction found two people suffering gunshot wounds laying outside.
