The UNEXPECTED Birthplace of the Republican Party

The Republican Party's first meetings took place in a small Wisconsin town. You can stop and visit the Little White Schoolhouse in Ripon Wisconsin.

The area has long attracted people who thought differently and questioned conventional wisdom. Nearby Ceresco was an experimental utopian community. Ripon has connections to many notable individuals. The meetings at Ripon created a party that would later be the choice of Abraham Lincoln. The building itself has quite the history.
