In a ruling late in the day Friday 4/21, the Supreme Court rejected the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal's partial restrictions on the FDA's approval of the chemical abortion pill, mifepristone. For now, the FDA's current guidelines for prescribing mifepristone will remain in effect pending further proceedings in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The Supreme Court's ruling allows the drug to remain on the market with the FDA's current 2023 non-existent restrictions. The drug will continue to be widely available up to 10 weeks' gestation and may be obtained by prescription through the mail.

Statement from The Right to Life League on SCOTUS Abortion Pill Ruling:

"The League awaits the 5th Circuit's further consideration of the FDA's failures to follow its own rules with respect to approval of the chemical abortion drug, mifepristone. All Americans, regardless of their party preference or their position on abortion, should demand the FDA scrupulously follow guidelines put in place to safeguard public health without regard to political pressure. Women's health should not be subject to the financial interests of the Abortion Cartel and Big Pharma or the political pressure of pro-abortion administrations."
