Over the years, legend has said that the Phantom Hare roams the streets on Easter Sunday searching for unsuspecting children to add to its collection. It is said that the only way to protect oneself from the Hare is to wear a special amulet made of silver and garlic, as these are believed to ward off evil spirits. If you encounter such an entity and you are not wearing said items, legend states to stare the Hare in the face and pray for your soul. Parents warn their children to stay indoors on Easter Sunday and to never accept eggs from strangers, for fear of falling victim to the Phantom Hare’s curse. The legend of the Hare has been passed down through generations, serving as a cautionary tale, to children who dare to venture out on Easter Sunday.
