Bad laws destroy lives. It is possible to make good laws. We should take a long hard look at how bad our status quo is. We can stop grinding good people into the dirt, but we have to get past Puritan hysteria. We can emulate countries that take a reasonable approach. We can use evidence-based arguments, assess real harm, and stop creating problems where none need to exist.
