2024 Elections | MK Party, IEC court judgment reserved

Judgment has been reserved in the electoral court, where the Umkhonto weSizwe Party is appealing the decision of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to uphold objections to former president Jacob Zuma's standing for public office. The court is set to hand down its order tomorrow.

MK Party senior counsel Advocate Dali Mpofu says declaring Zuma ineligible to stand for public office is a violation of his rights. Supporters of Umkhonto WeSizwe Party have braved the wet and cold weather and have gathered outside court show support for Zuma.
