Howdie was a hockey player, coach and stand up comedian. He then went through some traumatic experience which led to a deep depression. In 1997 he began to focus on Egypt and the ancient world and really found his focus and life purpose. In 2005 he had a near death experience in Canada. He's also written about the Worlds Fairs. Howdie currently lives in Norway.
