Terrorist Attacks In U.S (U.S Capitol) (9-11-2001)

At 7:15 p.m. EDT members of Congress gathered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. The buildings had been closed earlier in the day because of the threat of attack. Congressional leaders spoke about the attacks today on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and offered their condolences to families of victims. They said that both Houses of Congress would convene tomorrow. Following their remarks, members of Congress sang “God Bless America.” (9-11-2001)
