The Kingdom of Jordan is caught in the crosshairs of the latest confrontation between Iran and Israel. Jordan is facing a tough balancing act as anger among its people grows over the country's role in downing Iranian drones targeting Israel. For many back home, the military intervention seems to be a clear step in Israel's defence. Jordan hosts the largest diaspora of Palestinians and has been their greatest supporter in the region. To assuage anger, Jordan's officials have released multiple statements saying that the country's actions were in self-defence and to protect its sovereignty.
